| Paulaner Oktoberfest
Märzen
Description:
Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen has a full malt aroma, and
a characteristically amber color. It is particularly smooth
and savoury, with 13,7% original wort and 5,8% alcohol by volume.
Distinctions:
Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen was called after the month
of March ("März" in German). Before refrigeration
was invented, the last oppourtunity to brew bottom-fermented
beer was during March. To maintain stability against the heat
of the summer, the wort was made somewhat stronger than usual.
This kind of beer was served at the first Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest
Märzen was born!
Serving suggestions:
Traditionally, Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen is enjoyed
from 1 litre "masses". It is best accompanied by roast
knuckle of pork, roast or chicken, barbeques, and pairs well
with the spiciest of cuisines.
